Presentations & Workshops to Help Schools Create Resilient Students

‘Sara Westbrook is must have for any school.’

Vince Monaco ~ Principal ~ Oakville ON

‘I had the pleasure of watching Sara Westbrook’s presentations for grades K-3 and 4-8.  I was amazed how quickly she captivated the audience and how engaged the students were during the entire presentation.  I loved the way she was able to discuss emotions and build empowerment in an age appropriate way for each group. As an educator that works with students daily who struggle with self-regulation I found the presentations especially useful.’

Kelly Raymer ~ SERT ~ Oshawa ON

‘Sara’s messages of resilience, kindness, respect and self-confidence are powerful. She shared them in a thoughtful, heartfelt way. Teachers stopped me to share their appreciation for her presentation. We agreed that her work with our kids was incredible and we loved how she took the time to have a lovely moment with every child that wanted to meet her.’

Jen Miller ~ Teacher ~ Grimsby ON

Young people make a lot of emotion-based choices both in and outside the classroom. Since emotions shift and change according to the circumstances they are experiencing, they are not a reliable place to make choices from and can often have them say or do something they regret.

Through my UPower Presentations and Workshops, students learn the skills to think and act beyond emotions, which builds confidence, mental and emotional well-being, respect for themselves and others, allowing them to more effectively bounce back from challenges.

One of the most powerful ways to help guide young people to bounce back from challenges and to help them find out who they are and want to be is with a UPower map. It’s a visual reminder that helps guide their choices.

  • ‘You’ll come down from the Lurch with an unpleasant bump. And the chances are, then, that you’ll be in a Slump. And when you’re in a Slump, you’re not in for much fun. Un-slumping yourself is not easily done.’ Dr. Seuss ‘Oh The Places You’ll Go’......

  • ‘What emotion are you feeling?’ When you think about truly sharing your emotions, would you prefer to leave the conversation or conveniently find something else to talk about? Maybe it’s because you don’t know how you are feeling or maybe you want to shout ‘none of......
